Carlos Melgoza

Carlos Melgoza is a wood carver and sculptor. He is one of the five members of his family that has designed and created carved furniture of different styles. (See below, article from Arizona Daily Star, 1987)

In 1990 Carlos and his wife Sharon moved from Tucson, Arizona to San Luis Potosi, Mexico. They sold from their workshop to stores and businesses in Mexico who in return would sell Carlos' work ot their customers (both in Mexico and the U.S.), making a killing in profits while they payed Carlos a fraction of those profits for his work. Over time, the stores and businesses that they dealt with in Mexico hired their own woodcarvers and set up their own workshops to manufacture their furniture, and and least one of them advertised crude copies of Carlos' original designs.

Looking for a new marketplace, Carlos and Sharon immigrated back to Tucson, Arizona, late in 2002.  There they discovered that to succeed they would need to use the Internet to let people know what they have to offer -- hence this Web site.

They emphasize the originality of Carlos' designs and the savings that customers can enjoy buy purchasing directly from them.
